Sodium dihydrogen phosphate is a white crystal with various forms of hydrates, including anhydrous (Na2HPO4), dihydrate (Na2HPO4 · 2H20), heptahydrate (Na2HPO4 · 7H20), and dodecahydrate (Na2HPO4 · 12H20). The melting point is about 243-245 ℃ (decomposition), and the density is 1.52g/cm ³. Easily deliquescent and soluble in water. Water solution is weakly alkaline and can react with substances such as acids and bases. At temperatures above 240 ℃, it loses water and decomposes into sodium pyrophosphate.

The use of disodium hydrogen phosphate:

1. In the water treatment industry, ① used as a water softener for boiler water treatment, it can form complexes with calcium, magnesium ions, etc. in water to prevent the formation of scale and protect equipment such as boilers and pipelines. ② As a water quality treatment agent, in the industrial circulating water system, the pH of water is adjusted to play a buffer role, maintain the stability of water quality, and prevent the corrosion of equipment and pipes caused by water quality fluctuations.

2. The electroplating industry, as one of the components of electroplating solution, helps to improve the electroplating effect, enhance the quality and uniformity of the coating.

3. The leather industry, in the process of tanning leather, can help the tanning agents penetrate the leather better, improving the quality and softness of the leather.

4. The building materials industry is used to improve the performance of building materials such as cement.

5. It is a raw material for producing sodium hexametaphosphate and condensed acid salts.

6. Can be used as phosphate fertilizer to provide nutrients for plants and promote their growth and development.

7. Adding an appropriate amount of disodium hydrogen phosphate to agricultural irrigation water can regulate the acidity and alkalinity of the irrigation water, while preventing calcium and magnesium ions from precipitating and scaling, and protecting irrigation equipment.
