On the 20th of the month, the Supreme People's Procuratorate announced that Wu Canqi, former deputy general manager of the Natural Gas Branch of China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, was suspected of accepting bribes. The investigation by the Chaoyang Supervision Committee of Liaoning Province has been concluded and transferred to the procuratorial organs for review and prosecution. Designated by the People's Procuratorate of Liaoning Province, the case shall be reviewed and prosecuted by the People's Procuratorate of Chaoyang City. Recently, the People's Procuratorate of Chaoyang City made an arrest decision against Wu Canqi on suspicion of bribery in accordance with the law. The case is being further processed.

On September 14, 2023, the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission released a notice stating that Wu Canqi, former deputy general manager of the Natural Gas Branch of China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation Limited, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and investigation by the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of Sinopec and the Liaoning Provincial Supervisory Commission.
